The votes are in and the verdict is…
Hugh Jackman is officially the Sexiest Man Alive.
I have to say I saw that coming. I mean, c’mon. Just look at him. He’s perfect.

Natalie Finn – eOnline
Natalie says:
“Pat O’Brien is hanging up his mic.
The longtime TV personality is leaving his post as a correspondent on the syndicated celebrity-gossip show The Insider after more than four years on the job…”
Was it just time to move on, or were there deeper reasons for his departure? Read on…
Click HERE for the full story.
If he DID leave for the reasons that are alluded to in the story, well, then I’d have to say I admire his decision and I wish more people in positions of influence would follow suit.

Press Release:
September 9, 2008
WASHINGTON, D.C. (8 September 2008)– Rock for Life, a national pro-life music and advocacy movement that promotes 832 bands, is demanding an apology from MTV Music Video Awards host Russell Brand for his sexist, judgmental and intolerant remarks.
Brand, a British comedian infamous for dressing up as Osama Bin Laden the day after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, hosted the 25th annual awards ceremony September 7.
Brand opened the show with a monologue that attacked the chastity promise of a Christian band, “The Jonas Brothers,” and called Bristol Palin’s pregnancy a “P.R. stunt”.
“Brand has been arrested 11 times, once for indecent exposure,” said Erik Whittington, director of Rock for Life. “He appears to care more about making crude jokes to gain attention than he does offending who choose to live a lifestyle different from his own lascivious past.”
The comedian spent much of his airtime advocating for candidates and making crude remarks about those who live chaste lives.
Brand on the Jonas Brother’s abstinence until marriage promise: “A little sex once and awhile never hurt anybody.”
Brand on Gov. Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol’s pregnancy: “I do feel a little bit sorry for her daughter, getting pregnant, poor kid. Is it a boy? Is it a girl? It’s a P.R. stunt. Come on. Be honest.”
“We demand Brand apologizes to the individuals and groups he purposefully offended,” Whittington said.

(From the administrator)
This kind of intolerant vitriol should not be tolerated by either the Christian community or the network that hired Russell Brand. I do not know ONE WOMAN who would volunteer her body to incubate a baby for 9 months and then raise it for another 18 (or for a down-syndrome child, many times for life) on purpose as a PR stunt. Now that is probably the most sexist, asinine statement I’ve heard in a LONG time.
Brand himself has been in numerous scrapes with the law in the U.K., and has had serious drug and sexual addiction issues, including at least eleven charges of indecent public exposure. Apparently he has not learned the difference between “a little sex once in a while” and an addictive obsession with it… to the point of exposing himself to unwilling (and most likely disgusted) viewers.
Russell Brand obviously needs more professional help, starting with some manners classes.

Gosh – imagine my dismay when I was informed that my blog had the very same name as another website featuring an ex-playboy playmate… YIKES! Well, just to let you know, although I wouldn’t mind having her figure, it’s not me. And I’m not adding a link to her site, since I’m not the porn-peddling type.
Needless to say I will probably be reregistering under a different name starting very soon… or maybe I’ll just stick with some of the other blogs I’ve been working on for the last year.

It has been announced that Keith “Irate Man” Olbermann and Chris “Leg Thrill” Matthews have been demoted… they have now been given lesser roles as commentators on the NBC owned cable news channel, MSNBC.
MSNBC said Sunday it is replacing Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews as co-anchors of political night coverage with David Gregory, and will use the two newsmen as commentators.
The change reflects tensions between the freewheeling, opinionated MSNBC and the impartial newsgatherers at NBC News. Throughout the primaries and summer, MSNBC argued that Olbermann and Matthews could serve as dispassionate anchors on political news nights and that viewers would accept them in that role, but things fell apart during the conventions.
You don’t say? Not that I didn’t see this coming, but I’m surprised it took them this long.

Two elderly Chinese women who applied during the Olympic Games to protest the loss of their homes have been ordered to spend a year in a labor camp, a relative said Wednesday, as more foreign activists were detained.
The women were still at home three days after being officially notified they would have to serve a yearlong term of reeducation through labor, but were under surveillance by a neighborhood watch group, said Li Xuehui, the son of one of the women…

HOUSTON — Three airline passengers testified Wednesday they never saw or heard any indication that the wife of megachurch evangelist Joel Osteen assaulted a flight attendant in 2005.
Continental Airlines flight attendant Sharon Brown claims in her lawsuit that Victoria Osteen yelled at her, threw her against a bathroom door and elbowed her when a spill on the armrest of her first-class seat wasn’t quickly cleaned up. Brown claims she suffered physical and psychological injuries.
However, three first-class passengers on the plane testified Wednesday that they never saw or heard anything to indicate that Victoria Osteen assaulted Brown before the start of the flight from Houston to Vail, Colo…
Read the rest of the story HERE.
I do believe that SOMEBODY owes SOMEBODY not only an apology, but a refund of $3,000 the Osteens had to pay in fines for interrupting a flight – which was not their fault. PLUS, Brown should pay some sort of penalty for making a false report.

Isaac Hayes’ History With Scientology
Posted Monday, August 11, 2008
By Roger Friedman
My friend, Isaac Hayes, died on Sunday, and his passing leaves many unanswered questions.
The great R&B star, actor, DJ, performer and family man, the composer of “Soul Man,” “Hold On I’m Coming” and other hits by Sam Moore and Dave Prater like “When Something Is Wrong with My Baby,” also was a member of the Church of Scientology.
Isaac was found dead by his treadmill, but conveniently missing from the wire stories was a significant fact: in January 2006, Isaac had a significant stroke. At the time, the word went out only that he had been hospitalized for exhaustion.
But the truth was, Isaac, whom I’d seen just a couple of months earlier when he headlined the Blues Ball in Memphis, was in trouble…
